What I hope to achieve as a Dawn Day Spa finalists

The empowering Dawn Day Spa competition has just drawn its finalists from over 100,000 entries and the three overjoyed winners are all aspiring to change their lives for the better by starting their own beauty spa business.

The three finalists are Nosipho Vukeka, Sthembile Ngcobo and Phindile Ngcobo and they have each won a beauty course that will teach them the skills they need to work in a beauty salon.  The top performing finalist will win the grand prize of the entire Dawn Day Spa mobile container, valued at over R200,000 from which she will be able to run her own beauty business.

Nosipho (33) is currently working as an administrator at a local health and beauty spa and has already studied beauty therapy and massage. “I love slimming body treatments, wraps, massages, facials, manicures and pedicures,” she says. “It’s the reason why I entered the Dawn Day Spa competition as it’s always been a dream of mine to start my own spa.

“Being named a finalist has inspired me a lot. I am already dreaming about my spa’s layout and look, and what treatments I can offer. This is about fulfilling my goals and I want to tell everyone out there that anything is possible in life if you work hard and never stop dreaming,” adds Nosipho.

The second finalist, Sthembile (28), is currently a contract worker for the local municipality but is also passionate about doing hair which she does part-time with the help of her sister. “I am very excited about the beauty training,” she says. “It will be good for me and give me a lot of experience and skills that I can use.”

Inspired by running her own hair business, working in the community and also cooking food for the elderly, Sthembile is very motivated as an entrepreneur. “I just want to tell all the women out there to never give up because life is full of surprises,” she concludes.

The third finalist, Phindile (18), has just matriculated and likes the idea of working in the beauty industry. “I believe in myself and want to show that I am not just a pretty face,” she says.

“I have used Dawn products since I was born and I love the brand so this is very exciting for me,” Phindile concludes. “I am very motivated to run my own business. Women must believe in themselves and never stop striving. We are the movers and shakers, so keep moving!”
