5 BOOKS AT 25!’

Soweto born 25 year old author, Nonhlanhla Mnisi celebrates the milestone of having published five books by age 25. This theme – which is a testimony to her resilience, determination and drive – will be celebrated by the orphaned powerhouse at an event with the same theme on 31 May 2014.

Nonhlanhla Mnisi lost her mother through an HIV related disease at the tender age of 12. Her father died whilst she was still in her mother’s womb. These tragic events did not stop her however from publishing five books – namely “Life Changes” (Uk – 2010), “Shades of My Brutality” (SA – 2013), “Stained for a Season, Cleaned for Life” (SA – 2013), “Overdue Resignation” (SA – 2011) and “A Good Woman/Man but Not a Great Partner” (SA – 2014).

Mnisi opens up her life experiences, thoughts and hearts in her writings. Overdue Resignation is an inspirational book intended to propel the reader to greater heaights. She does not shy away from spreading the word on relationship dynamics as the title of her 5th book indicates (A Good Man/Woman but not a Great Partner). The book also includes contributions by the best South African authors and speakers on the subject of relationships, namely Thabo Mokwele, Linda Yende, Dr David Molapo, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Dr GA Lechuti, Ms Zama Mkosi, Ms Claudine Mofokeng and Dr BabalwaFunda amongst others.

The 5th book, including a foreword by Wendy Luhabe, will be launched at ULP House in Midrand at 2pm, in an auspicious event. The event will include a fundraising item on the agenda. This is due to the dynamo having being accepted by the New York Film Academy for a world class 12 month course in film production.

The author manages a busy diary as she juggles between writing and many other responsibilities. Her responsibilities include her chairperson role at Amazing Grace Children’s Home, Youth Empowerment Network, Help a Child Grow and as KZN Head of the International Inspiring Women Network. She also writes for the Mail and guardian and sites such as DJ Sbu’s Leadership2020, YBS Media and Readers Café.

Nonhlanhla Mnisi is not a stranger to television, radio and print media as she has featured on Morning Live (SABC 2), Drum Magazine, Radio 2000 (Thami Ngubeni interview), 702, SAFM Afternoon Talk, Kaya FM, Radio Veritas, Thobela FM, Rainbow FM, Morning Live to name just a few.
